cleaning base rock

what should i do to thoroughly clean some base rock. it looks pretty dirty. it was in a pile of rocks and there was dirt and spiderwebs and all other sorts of things in it. don't wanna just rinse it and put it in my tank. any suggestions on how to make it clean for the tank?

extra tank? saltwater. seed it? sit for a month? not sure what you mean by cure it

Get a rubber maid tub or bucket something like that. fill it with saltwater, put the rock in it with powerhead and a heater and do water changes and every week test the water and when everything shows 0 on the test kits then the rock is cured.
