Cleaning Fish Tank glass

Take the glass tops to the tub and spray with vinegar. I have a showerhead on a hose that I rinse the tops with. I clean the outside of my tank with windex, just make sure not to get it in your tank.

Hmm I just used distilled water and now it looks worse. Looks like I have a bunch of mineral deposit spots on the glass.

Should I use windex or vinegar to take them off? I'd like to use windex but don't want to harm my fish :(

Use the distilled water on one cloth and then come back with a dry cloth to clean it up. I would try to stay away from chemicals if I could but saying that alot of people use windex by spraying it on a paper towel then cleaning the glass.

Keep the windex in the closet. Use a vinegar and water solution for the glass. Play it safe. And the vinegar when you use a dry cloth will truely polish the glass better. Stay with Vinegar.

I wash the outsides with Windex and paper towels, wipe off with paper towel and then hit up the glass with a microfiber towel. Leaves it crystal clear every time.

Hey thanks for the advice. I've got it cleaned up now and it looks good.. Just used two cloths like Engine8ff suggested. I think next time I'm gonna try a nice vinegar finish :)

I just use a microfiber cloth. No need for vinegar, windex or water. Microfiber will pick up any deposits on the glass. This also works for fingerprints on stainless steel appliances.
