hey guys i know we all clean our front glass all the time my question is if i leave the back glass dirty is it bad or could that turn to coraline if i leave it alone for a long time

As long as your water params are in check and there isn't a lot of unwanted algae, the back wall will most likely get covered in coralline. Some like it some don't. No harm done in leaving it. I prefer a clean black backdrop myself. Makes the corals really pop. ;)

I leave mine. Although my corals would likely show better if I cleaned it, my Kole tang munches on it all day and I can't bring myself to scrape it.

I leave my back and sides alone and clean my front although I just scraped off the top left front to make place for a new 8 Magnum Hydor Koralia Water Circulation Pump. I know my seven tangs like to pick at the algae on the back and sides. I would feel like the mean fish parent if I removed it all, besides, most of the back is covered by live rock.

To each there own.

i know im tempted to clean it but ima leave it alone for awhile and see what happens by the way what color is coraline when it starts

I clean it. I used to leave it covered with coralline, but I like the look of a clean background better.

i dont allow any corraline on my glass at all, i clean it off at the first sign, nothing wrong with having it on the rear glass, but i prefer a clean looking tank, rocks only allowed to be covered no glass

I like the clean look on my larger tank. But my BioCube at my office has the black plastic in back & its covered, so theres no point to cleaning it. It just blends in & looks good.

Whatever you decide to clean, the magic erasers from Mr. clean work wonderful. They have no chemicals and won't hurt your coral or your fish.
