Cleaning Starfire Glass

I recently bought an aquarium made with starfire panels. There is some coralline and other gunk on the glass. Can I use a razor blade to clean the glass the same as I would on regular glass?

I have used only a metal blade on my aquarium from the day I got it and it still has a couple scratches on it.

I had heard that the glass was softer due to the lower iron count, which was why I am concerned. I'll start on the back, and hopefully it will be good to go from there. Can I use a regular mag float to clean the glass once I have it up and running?

The source of urban legends.

Is there anyone who actually has a starphire glass tank who has experienced scratches from using clean razor blades?

I doubt it.

Thanks Fisher 72. That's my experience as well. Use a clean, fresh blade (no rust, gouges or other imperfections).

^^ Agreed. I've used clean metal blades for 2.5 years on my Oceanic starphire without any issues.

I've used clean blades with no issues. I have also used the plastic ones made to scrap acrylic and had no issues. I only use the plastic ones cause using a kent pro scraper I can reach the bottom with no reaching.
