I recently washed out a tank that had coralline all over with a mixture of water and vinegar. Do I need to wash it again with plain water to get the vinegar off or should it be ok?
Vinegar won't really hurt anything. It can actually be dosed to lower pH. You might want to just wipe down the inside of the tank with a damp towel to remove all you can. How good a job did it do of removing the coraline?
I have alway use vinegar to clean my impeller of calcium build up on all my pumps. Just rise it well with water. A razor blade and a little elbow grease works well in removing coraline algae.
