Can you describe it more?

Usually when I hear people describe a brown algae it turns out they have diatoms.

Here is a picture I found doing a google image search. I kinda like the little sunken airplane :)

How old is the tank?
Are you using RO? RO/DI?
Whats the TDS?

I have little brown patches all over the place. the brown algae also has some clear oxygen bubbles with it.

just did a 15 gallon water change 2 weeks ago, and there is plenty of flow.

Am planning on doing a 25 gallon water change tonight when I get home.

tank is 3 months old.

Everything was transferred from my old tank that was up and running for 1 year, so it shouldn't be cycling.

Use RO/DI and have replaced the resin and carbon filter within the past 2 months.

yellow eye Kole tanks are great algae eaters . mine will eat any Algae in the tank , all day long , red brown , green , she will eat it all ,,, and shes a looker too , at fist glance they look boring , bit shes has some great color in all of the lines blues , reds.

I have a yellow kole eye tang and he's doing his part tackling the algae, but it is on the sand everywhere so he's fighting a losing battle.

I bought a Sand Sifter goby the other day. he has been missing since the day after I got him and is presumed MIA.

What about certain types of inverts? Any hermit crabs or snails that eat brown algae.

Mexican turbos can help for sure , sand sifting star , Dragon gobys will do a good job on it too ,,,,, i know AT has all 3 of them . RMS had a nice dragon yesterday ( under 20 bucks) , and sand stars too @ 9.99 i think , but i didnt see any mexican's there .

Be a bit careful with the Mexican turbo..I know they aren't supposed to get real big but I just had one that died after 4 years of knocking stuff over. Sucker was almost 4" big too. Wasn't an issue until I started with corals and clams and would find them knocked over in the mornings. :)
