I have a mucosy clear susbstance appearing on 2 of my live rocks, on the one is a patch about 3 inches in a circle...on the other it is underneath but about 6 inches around, and has what appears to be finger like protrusions coming out of the goo about 2 inches long...looks like a scene from the blob...really wierd..I can't get a good pic because it is growing (rapidy) on the underside of the rock reaching towards the sand bed...any clue as to what this might be??

Probably a type of worm. The mucus is used to catch detritus and living microscopics. Nothing to worry about.

Or, its slime from a wrasse. When they sleep at night they cover in slime to protect from parasites/predators. It apparently is toxic tasting.
