how much of the WB sticks out of the tank 1/2 to 3/4 inch? if I place the WB near the front glass in a tank 6'Lx30"Wx24T will it actually move all the water or more in the front than it does the back? How may magnetic holders are needed?

I have 2 6101's now and think a WB would be a great addition.

Approx 3/4" above your water level

Yes, the wave frequency will move water throughout your tank.

How may magnetic holders are needed?
I always use 1 and place it on the bottom because that is where you need the most support. The top you can use the suction cup.

The wave box will be a great addition because it helps suspend detritus up in the water column and the stream will help push it into your overflow and to the protein skimmer...

Reef, the blue sponge is the sound damper. It will cover the motor block to reduce vibration. DO NOT LET IT COVER YOUR INTAKE SCREEN. It is not a prefilter. Good luck and enjoy :D

Thanks Jar*Head cant wait to get it home and running, I just picked it up from a shop in Phoenix they had a huge tank with 2 of the WB's going and WOW it looked so good!! Thanks again for your response, and sorry to hear you are putting your tank plans on hold for now...but will follow along if you stat up again

No problem Reef... I am glad the tank wasn't up and running with fish and corals. The baby took all my time and sleep :D

OK so I have it going, wondering if i should have the other pumps going (2 6101's) will they change the wave if turned on after adjustment?????

The stream will not change your wave pattern unless you have the stream pump point straight into the outlet of your wavebox...

cool, I adjusted it last night for what seemed like hours and have achieved about a 1/2 wave which gives the tank a nice swaying effect, not sure I can get a bigger wave or if this is enough but it sure looks good :)

got it up to 3/4-1 inch wave, is there any way to slow down the motion without loosing the wave size? I like the size of the wave but just seems like it is going too fast....make sense??

I know exactly what you mean. But due to the length of your tank, the wave has to be fast. I have an 4x4 cube with two wavebox and i have the same problem...

I think you want something like this.... May be two 6206 (nano wave box will help fix your problem)

wow thats an awsome wave in that first video, after watching my tank for a while I got used to the speed and kinda liked it, I just hope my corals will :)

My large toadstool closed up, not sure it liked the sudden change in water movement hope the corals get used to it.

Thanks for the videos great tank

Reef, all your corals will love the wave. I used to have a large toadstool in my tank and when i first introduce the wavebox, the toadstool won't open for a week. But after that, it never close up on me again :D

So Jar*Head how did you post the videos right in your post like that? I took a short video of my tank but cant figure out how to add it to my post.

First you will save the video into your computer, then upload into photobucket. When you want to post a video, copy the last link on your photobucket and paste into the thread.... Let me know if you need anymore help.

BTW, if you want to improve the wave a little, there is two small hole in the back of your wavebox. if you use the plastic screws which come with your mounting bracket to seal the two holes. You will improve the wave a bit...
