I am having a frag tank built for me. It is acrylic and is 24x24x10...Its about 25gallons. The person making it is also making me 4 frag racks that are 11.5x5 and range from 1-3" tall.
I wanted to build a frag tank so that I could grow out frags before adding them to my display.
The frag tank will be plumbed into my 220g Display tank so that I benefit from the stable water paramaters and protien skimmer.
I will also be running an AI Hydra over the tank.
This I have so far:
AI Hydra
EXT Tank Mount Rail
Stand (being built)
Also added a 2part doser to my system to help maintain stability.
Here are some renderings of the tank.
I started working on the stand last night. Got quite a bit done. Should be able to finish it tonight and start painting it. Going to use Kilz then cover that with black paint. The stand should match my 220g stand and it will sit right next to it.
The stand is 24x24x36. Made it tall beings the tank is only 10" and I wanted to be able to see things and reach into it easily.
Used Pock Holes to screw the boards together, worked really nice.
Got the frame finished. The frame was for the most part square but it is perfectly level.
Then I put the shelves in. Wasnt real happy with the way the bottom shelf turn out but that is covered by the skin later anyways.
This is as far as I got last night. It is turning out well. I think It will be nice when it is finished.
