clicking?

I finally got part of my order. Two 6000 pumps. Man do these things move some H2O! Unfortunately I haven't received the controller so they just run at full speed all the time. I have seen some posts where people talk about pulsing the pumps and the clicking sound. My tank is next to my living room, is this clicking sound loud?

Thanks,
Ken

I think it is quieter than a pistol shrimp, it also tends to go away largely as the parts wear in. It takes 2 weeks to do most of the wear in of the parts but it really continues until about 2 months they are in their optimal condition.

FWIW, I have two 6100's w/7095 and my tank is right next to my couch where we watch tv, less than 2feet from the stream in tank and they switch (click) about every 10-20 seconds.

You can hear it if you stop and listen but otherwise it's perfectly fine (and I'm somewhat of an audiophile.) My fiance hasn't complained either.

I seriously wouldn't worry about it.

Great thanks guys. I was just wondering because I use the X10 stuff which emits a very audible click when a device goes on and off. It's okay when it only happens every few minutes but I wouldn't want it happening every 20 seconds.
