My overflow got clogged with something (probably hair algae that got sucked in)--the overflow was draining at about 1/2 the speed of usual, allowing the tank water to rise to the very top, and over a bit. I took one of those pipe cleaning brushes and went up from underneath and cleaned it so it drained normal, then it did it again this morning.
It never did clog all the way, thank goodness, because that would have put several gallons over the top of the tank and onto the carpet.
Needless to say, I'll be taking off the canopy today so I can give it a thorough cleaning inside. So just a friendly reminder to all -- clean your overflows regularly.
