Closed Loop Advice Needed

I have a 2" bulkhead in the back of the 90G going to a closed Loop pump. I'm wonder the best way to keep live stock out of there:confused: I was looking at putting a 90 degree elbow and about 10" of pipe and closed on the end, and then either drilling a lot of holes or cutting some slots or both. Looking for some direction and how others have done this.

Could get some acrillic and just do a small box round the bulkhead and drill holes on the side to allow the flow in.

Or run the box up ....................

hmmmm I am starting to see what you mean on this one

How about a small piece of window screen mesh just slightly larger than the bulkhead Then put a rubberband over the edge of the screen-attached to the outside rime of the bulkhead? It will keep the fish out & still allow for water movement. Only thing is the rubberband will have to be tight or the mesh may get sucked into to cl.

Something like that would work with a small box as well. I would thing that having just the mesh over the bulk head would still get causlites from the suction at that bulk head.

Placing the mesh around the box would give it some cushion room or the fish to not get sucked up.

Problem solved there ! Nice Find Titan :)

Thanks everyone, I was looking for those and did not find them, Now I can get something on order. Awsome help here! I sure like the 2" basket, and then maybe even cover that with a mesh bag, if that would not restrict flow to much. Thanks everyone

Thanks for the link, (I did find some 2" screens) but looks like I will probably go with the basket style, the out to the pump will be behind some rock anyway, so it will not show. The basket style look sturdy and maybe support some rock work.

Thanks
