Just like everyone else I'm trying to create a problem...
I think that I need a larger pump on my closed loop system. I have looked for the last 3 months and the only logical thing to do would be to use one of the sequence pumps. Dart or Snapper... Iwaki and all the other brand names they are sold under are fine but draw way too much power and are way too loud...
Here is the issue with the Sequence pumps:
The inlet on them is 2"FNPT. The hole I have and am using now with the mag 12 is 1". If I were to use the same hole I assume that the Dart could still push about 1800 gph. Defeats the purpose of the Dart.
My other option is to drain the tank and make the hole larger. Is it worth the risk?
Powerheads are not an option since I hate the sight of them in a tank.
What would you do?
Thank you for any input and ideas,
BK
