Closed Loop - placement of supply jets

I'm in the process of setting up my 125 reef. I haven't decided on my pump leading from my sump yet, but I will be looking for something to give me approx 1000 gal/hr through my two overflow boxes.

I already drilled the back of my tank about 6" down from the top with 2 holes for my closed loop intakes. What is the general consensus for location of the return nozzles?

I'm thinking towards the bottom of the tank to blow the detritus from the back behind the LR to the front for easier removal. I will have a BB. I don't believe that back siphoning should be a problem since it is not going back to my sump and is a closed loop.

Any recommendations on brands of pumps to go with? I plan on keeping softies and trying my hand at some SPS. The pumps will be downstairs in my basement so noise isn't the biggest concern. I will be pumping up 15 feet.

I realize that I am asking a lot of questions...but that is why I only have less than 50 posts. When I have over 1000 posts maybe I might know at least one answer....lol

Honestly, depends on how much flow you have and over what distance the water is moving.

I'd plan on keeping it flexible until you're satidfied with placement. However I think the consensus is on either ends of the tank.

My own design is as such with spray bars that create a general push/pull around the tank. They were made by just running some PVC pipe just under the water line and drilling them with holes pointing down and around a bit. Even one real small one on top to create surface turbulance.

Everyone seems to to have their own ideas on what is best for placement of returns. My closed loop has a spray bar on the bottom, 2 returns on the left side pointing across the bottom to my overflow(my particular overflow grabs water from the surface and the very bottom of the tank) , and 4 returns on the top corners connected to an oceansmotions four way.

I have two 3/4 returns jus below surface , then four returns in front (will be hidden by canopy) with homemade eductors(these things rock too!!) Oh and two 1 1/2 bulkheads for intakes
