While still in the planning stages of a c.l. system, just thought I'd ask if using a speed controller on a quiet one 3000 would significantly shorten it's life span or not? As for why I might want to do this, I have no solid answer, just happen to have some extra ones,(speed controllers that is), lying around and thought about using them on my reef plumbing. Never know when I might want to change the strength of the current to help or hinder certain events. Anyway, thanks for any pertinent info.
