Closed polyps

I picked up a frag of some sort of purple with what looks to be green centered polyps. half of it is open and the other half closed. its been like this for a few days. And I have no idea why. I also have another frag that looks like one head has a pinched stem. Need help thanks

Visually inspect the frag for pests. Check at night as well with a flashlight.

If no pests are present I would try to move it around the tank and see how it does in different spots.

No I don't believe there are any pests around the frags. I checked last night. So moving them around is the best solution in getting them to open up? So far I have a frag with 8 heads and only 8 of them open so far. I hope they will open soon.

I've also noticed in the morning, one of the heads would look like it wants to open but not. I can see the center open up a slight bit which exposes its mouth. But when lights on it closes back up. Could a switch from 150 mh to 250mh cause any problems.? And it only seems like half the frag is effected.

Could very well be your light.

If they are high up, try moving them to a low flow area on the sand bed and see if they open up.

IME zoa's are really picky about their flow and light. To much or too little of either and they will close right up.

Hmm could half of it be happy and the other half are annoyed? I do see the center of their mouths when the lights are off but when the lights are on they are closed up again.

And I also have another frag that I've had a while. When I first got it the stalk was full, it always opened, but recently the stalk became thin and it doesn't open as much. Its not a pinched stalk but just a skinny stalk.
