Cloudy eye question

My clown fish has recently developed a white film over one of his eyes. At first I thought he damaged it on the barnacle that he lives in, but now I am worried that it may be something else. He acts normal. He's still eating and swims fine. My water quality is good: PH 8.3, Nitrate 0 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0 spec grav 1.024. Any suggestions on what I should do. I definitely don't feel confortable adding any meds to the tank because of corals and inverts.

HI mnewsome,

I am with you, I don't feel comfortable adding things to the main tank.

If he has cloudy eyes it could be from water quality issues. I know you posted your para. and they are fine but make sure they stay that way.

It could also be a bacterial infection but post a pic if you can so we can really see what it looks like.

I would add vitamins if your not already to the food to help boost the immune system; zoe, selecon, esc..

I do add that Vita Chem. I soak their Formula 1 & 2 pellets in it. It's just the one eye and it doesn't seem to bother him, so I don't know what it is. I want to think he just scraped it on that barnacle, but I really don't know.

One eye could be just an injury, both eyes could be flukes. Tattered fins and cloudy eyes is a sign of flukes so be on the look out if the other eye gets cloudy also.
