Cloudy eye

I am going to guess right away here, it is the ammonia, do a water change, test for ammonia again, maybe do another water change, slowly drop your ammonia levels without shocking the fish, it is already stressed.

He has been in there for a week. Eating fine. Wasnt until today you could see the cloudyness on one eye. It has been an established QT.

But he now seems to hide in the PVC unlike before today he was out and about

Let me ask you 2 more questions, is it an Angel & how many water changes have you done in the 1 week?

May be a precurser to pop eye? One of my freshwater cichlids always got a cloudy eye before getting pop eye. Haven't had it in saltwater fish yet so I don't know how it works. Just throwing a guess out there right now as well.

I have had this occur before with my Angels in QT, Anthias are quite succeptible as well & it was an ammonia issue. I am not suggesting you are testing wrong, but I would try a water change immediately & see if it clears up in the next 24 hours, otherwise it could be a baterial infection or worse. http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/fish_diseases/eyes.html I did treat my main tank with Amoxicillin once, I had multiple large Angels with cloudy eye.

Do a FW dip to see if it is flukes. Flukes cover the eyes making them look cloudy About the only time you can see them. Anthias often come in with flukes. Otherwise look for other reasons like Ich or velvet. If none of those then it could be bacterial or abrasion. Try antibiotic like Maracy II.

i have the same issue.. my regal angel was doing great in QT for two weeks..now has cloudy eye. and is breathing very hard.. might be over but trying.. i do not see any signs of ick. i did a five min fresh water bath yesterday but he is doing worse today..on the bath all the parmeters were correct.. ph and temp...

originally had carbon running... now... no carbon and no uv on the system. I added prozi - pro last night in case of flukes.. he has some white stringy stuff on his eye to go along with the cloudy eye. ..

do we think bacterial infection.. ? if so treat with what?

thanks
