cloudy green water

my water has turned green for some reason. I had the water tested and all things are where they should be.

light could be trigger more algae growth, I'd recommend some water changes and consider a UV filter, which should break down the algae cells in the water column. also, what kind of skimmer and other filters do you have on the tank? if it's that seaclone and concoction of cannisters in your signature, I'd highly recommend removing them all and getting a better powered skimmer. you could be fueling algae in the canisters, and the seaclone isnt nearly adequate for the 125.

I already order a better skimmer jsut waiting for it to get here but wait can I do till then about the green water

Algae blooms happen on occasion with newer tanks ... your tank is on the last edge of being called new/mature so you might consider increasing the frequency/quantity of water changes and cut back on feeding.

In general a std algae bloom is a cosmetic issue rather than a life or death issue. If you do nothing it should go away on its own.

No magic on water chagnes ... some people argue for frequent small water changes .. I tend to go with less frequent large water changes. If you go the large water change route make sure the replacement water is properly aged (24 hrs+) and has the correct salinity and temperature.

I did a water change yesterday and the water is still green. I think I will keep the lights off for the weekend (just leave the blue ones on) and see if that helps. Does anyone know if this is a good notion or not
