Cloudy Tank

I have not experienced a cloudy tank until today. It was clear this morning & tonight it has a white cloudy look to the water. All water parameters check good.

Tank is a 100 gallon 9 years old (moved two years ago) It has always been a stable tank.

Fish & inverts look & act good. A few corals are not fully opened but the majority look just fine.

Any ideas as to what causes this & what if anything needs to be done. Do I need to be concerned about harmful effects?

I had a similar situation in a 12g a couple of years ago. Best answer I could get was that is was a bacteria bloom. I did a large water change and all was well. Never had it happen in my 125.

Skimmer output is lighter & filled sooner than usual. I dropped in a polyfilter & carbon is already in. Doesn't smell any different. We'll see how it fares in the morning. Thanks all.

Brad, its probably one of those 2 most likely. Have you seen your corals spewing anything - Spawning ?? Definatly crank the skimmer up and hopefully it pulls out most everything. Water change and water testing would also be a good idea.

Tank was clear this morning & still looks good tonight. I have no idea what it was. All corals look just fine tonight. All water parameters tested good. I didn't see any of the corals spawn but it certainly could have happened. Some of them are approaching 7 years old. Had me worried though...
