cloudy water! dang!

so about a week ago i added my cleaner crew, 10 blue hermits, 10 narsissis (spelling?) snails, and a brittle starfish. since i added them my water has been pretty cloudy... any idea why and what to do?

spawning snails? but probally not......in a 24g tanks things can change quickly and water quality suffers as you should know.

Agree with that, smaller the tank the faster things change. Not sure maybe the clean up crew is kicking up sand? doubt it though.

How cloudy? Can you see to the back of the tank? When my snails spawned it was a milky color and I could see the back of the tank.

When my sand bed crashed I could see my hand in the tank unless it was on the glass.

its pretty cloudy, but yeah i can see the back. thats the only change ive made.

Can you see puffs of milky white coming from the snails?

If not I wonder if it has to do with your calcium levels. I'm no chemist, but you may want to check in the chemistry forum to see if your calcium is falling out of solution. Have you been adding kalk? What are your pH/alkalinity/Calcium levels?

my ph is 8.1 my alk is 8.5 but i dont have a calcium test
