I'm setting up a 240g salt water system. I have the tank filled with RO water and did my aquascaping. I then poured 4x 40lbs bags of CaribSea Seaflorâ"žÂ¢ Special Grade Reef Sand into the tank. After the first bag I noticed that the water became all cloudy and by the 4th bag the water was so milky you can't even see the rocks inside.
I then read the bags and it recommended to 'filter' the sand until the water runs clear then put the sand in the tank. Since this was just a recommendation and I don't have any livestock in the tank I decided I didn't need to worry about this.
Well its been 2 days and the water is still milky and you can't see the rock. Does anyone know if I need to drain the water out of the tank and start to fill it again or would my canister filter (which should arrive in a week or so) be able to clean all this up?
This is the canister filter I purchased: http://www.eheim.com/pro3.htm
Should this filter be able to clear up the milky water mess I made?
