Cloudy Water

I have a Fluval 304 on my 55g FO tank, i changed the carbon and rinses the spnges out like 3 2 days ago, i also did my first water change at the same time of about 15 gallons of ro/di water. The wate ris cloudy and never has been. did i forget to do somehtin gto the water before i put it in, i added salt and ph buiffer and let it sit a day, why is my water getting cloudy ?

Could be a bacterial bloom or maybe a precipitation event. Do you have alkalinity and calcium measurements for the tank? How long has the tank been running?

The pH buffer might be causing the problem. They generally don't work very well when added without testing. I would run an alkalinity test. If the water doesn't clear up in a few days, I would guess it's a bacterial bloom, which might respond to a UV, if you can borrow one for a few days. Otherwise, you could try waiting it out.
