Clove polyps and ULNS/probiotics

Does anyone know if clove polyps would survive in a well fed very low nutrient system? I know Xenia typically does not do well and was curious about these guys.

I do not have them. However animals which like "dirty water" traditionally do poorly in ULNS.

Based upon experience, I would say clove polyps can prosper in just about any environment. I had a small stalk of clove enter my low nutrient SPS only tank a couple years ago and before I knew it the cloves almost took over. I went to great pain to finally remove "most" of these guys. Every now and then I see a stalk pop up and I quickly erradicate it with much joy. Be very careful w/these guys.

mr&mrsfish do you have images of the types of cloves which you had issues with? Cloves is a common name for many genus and I just wonder if the type you had issues with is the type I would like to keep in my aquarium.
In my experience the "mini cloves" and those with smooth tentacles seem to spread faster and become more of an issue then those with larger multi color tentacles.

Discoma mushrooms, Rhodactis, GSP, Briareum, Xenia, and Anthelia will not enter this tank. Regardless if they would do well, I know the last two won't for sure, because of the risk of them overgrowing large Acropora colonies.

Speaking of which I just saw this on ORA:

Pretty sure that would not be a slower grower. The specimen I have is bright orange and green. Typically the prettier colors don't grow as fast as plain brown or tan with uniform color. In my experience anyways.

Just not sure if they would do well in an ULNS.

i have a rock of mushrooms, a rock of GSP another rock with 4 different types of mushrooms and 2 stalks of clove pollyps and all doing well, tank been fishless for 8 weeks and i have been vodka dosing it and i have no other means of phos removal. all doing well

Ok, ziyaadb can you post an image of your tank? How many months have you been with out any cyano or hair algae? 8 weeks is not a lot of time even a coral the requires daily feeding can live for 6 months with out food.
