ok i read a few tips and tricks for getting the clowns to host, namely putting a picture of another clown up on the side of the tank.

anywho last night i figure i would give this a shot so i just googled a pic of a clownfish held my laptop up to the side of the tank for like 2-3mins. and the big clown started to bully the smaller clown (and the smaller clown did that spasm movement showing submissiveness) somewhat and appeared to be like cleaning dirt/sand out of the anemone, and starting to bite the tentacles.... i was hoping they would start hosting. but alas like 3hrs later they seemed like they could of cared less about the anemone....

so my question is, is this like normal behavior for anemone to allow the clowns tho host?

they are false percs also

lol... the tip is to tape a picture to the side of the tank, not just show them one for a min or two... but the real question...

What type of anem do you have? Some are not natural hosts to clowns at all.

i have a RTBA well i guess maybe i should tape the picture considerin they reacted to it.... i seen pics of false clowns hosting bta's..so....i know on the faq's i dont think it says they host...then again doesnt say they would host a frogspawn either lol

They often accept BTA's but some clowns just never host... others can take over 6 months to find their BTA.

Dont force your clowns into the BTA, if they dont have a proper slime coat built up the BTA could sting them.

If your clowns are agressive feeders you could try using a turkey baister & shooting brine beside or over the anem. The clowns will touch the BTA on their own while trying to feed & hopefully realize it feels good.
