Clown Advice

Looking for some advice on picking a clown pair.

Current tank is 75 gallon with 20 gallon sump. 4 months old and Testing fine, with current focus on lowering nitrates from current level of 10-20.

Looking to have a clown pair as the main focus of the tank. Not sure I can support more than a BTA since lighting is an ATI T4 setup (4 bulb). I have had little success with getting false percs to host BTA's, so I'm looking to go with a more natural pairing for BTA's.

Would like so suggestions on which clown to go with. The less aggressive the better as I would like to be able to keep some other peaceful fish in the tank. Than you in advance for your help!

I would advise you to work on your skills before adding any sort of anemone... that is assuming you are new to the hobby.

As far as clowns go, you can keep any species you like in a tank that size. The most difficult thing will be in getting them acclimated after shipping. There are a few species that are extremely difficult to get past the 90 day mark unless you know what you're doing. I would also recommend quarrantining anything wet that you intend to add to the system.
A few species I would recommend are ocellaris, percula, sandaracinos, akallalopisos, perideraion, clarkii, frenatus, barberi, melanopus, chrysogaster, thiellei

Some species that I would not recommend due to sensitivity are latezonatus, polymnus, sebae, leucokranos, nigripes and chrysopterus.

If you plan to do a clown only tank you might consider P. biacleatus. Otherwise they're more aggressive than I like for a community tank.

Clowns as a general rule do not require an anemone. However if you get to a point that you are comfortable keeping the more difficult species, I would recommend having one for them.
