Clown age?

Ok so in the process of setting up a new 55gal with a 20gal sump.

I have an established 20gal at home (in college now and finally have my own place) that I want to tear down and turn into a QT for my 55

due to a terrible accident involving a rouge anemone and an unprotected filter intake :headwally: rookie mistake i know.... The only survivor was 1 Ocellaris clown.

I received the clown along with another as a juvenile around 6-7 years ago. the incident involving the anemone was 3 years ago.

I obviously can't under any circumstances kill my clown.

but have been told to only introduce pairs of clowns to an aquarium at the same time.... and I do not have this clown's pair. He is also very aggressive (bites, jumps, attacks anything that comes near the water)

SO WHAT DO I DO?

I am probably 6-8 months from even putting water in my new tank. (LSU is expensive) and after cycling that will put me close to a year and a half.

How long will my clown last?

Can I introduce him to the new tank, and in what order with other fish, before or after.

HELP :sad1:

I think you should be fine to add another SMALL clown. It has to be smaller than your existing clown. Your existing clown turned into a female so you have to add a small male. If you have another small bucket or tank pull your clown out and get a new clown. Put them in QT together so they pair up. That's what I would do, so its like adding both together but you are really not. I would not just plop the new clown in with your female. Other people will chime in and help.
