clown and anemones question

Hey guys i was wondering what you would suggest for an anemones for me that doesnt wander much, or that won't kill any other coral. Looking to get a pair of clowns to add also. Would love to get a pair of black clowns but my LFS never gets any blacks in. What other clowns would be good in a 20 gallon with a pair of chromis?

All anemones can and will wander if the conditions don't suit them, and they will also kill/irritate other corals if they touch them or get too close.

i thought there were some that would not hurt coral. I thought about adding the anemone first and let it get settled where it wants to be but i want coral also. Will a clown host in a torch and leave the other coral alone since it is like an anemone or will it still rub up on the others and make them close up?

I'm not sure about a torch, but a lot of people have had their clown host in frogspawn and hammer corals.

Sorry, all anemones are equipped with stinging cells, so they're going to sting the things they touch, and 20 gals is pretty tight quarters for most anemones. If you provide good care for the nem and it thrives, it will probably outgrow your tank.

People have had luck with occell.'s hosting toadstool leathers. For the frogspawn, hammer, or torch these have sweeper tentacles that can sting corals around them as well. If you don't already have one of these you might be better off trying some of the leather corals.

Good luck and thanks for doing some researching first! :)

Another thing to consider is if your tank is capable of supporting an anemone. Is it mature and stable enough, is your lighting good enough, etc...

If you haven't already, the FAQ for clowns & anemone's near the top of the forum is a great place to start. There's a lot of information.
