WOOOOHOOOOOO got little Ocellaris CLown babies, just seen them in the tank, free swimming close to some lr in a corner, but I was very ill prepared, and didnt even know they were coming, is there anything I can do to help them make it? I am hatching out some brine shrimp will that help? Tomoko I know you have raised babies before, but I have no other tank to place them in, any advise?

If you can capture them, you can put them in a net breeder sold for guppy babies. The net breeder or guppy breeder tank is supposed to hang inside an aquarium. They will eat live baby brine shimp on day 4. They may survive till then.

To capture them, you need to turn off all the equipment at night after the light goes out so that the water is very still. Then shine a small pen light near the top of your aquarium. The babies will be attracted to the pen light and swim to it. You can gently scoop them up with a cup.

Once they start, they seem to be able to 'remember' the rhythm of the dance more eagerly:). I can't wait until some of mine start laying eggs. I think I've got a while, though. The pair in Nashville laid about every 11 days, I think.

Well they hatched in the middle of the night guys, Maybe Next time. I do have some baby shrimp. Peppermints. Maybe some of them will make it.

They hatch shortly (about one hour) after the light turns off. You need to get some rotifers and some brine shrimp eggs to hatch for the babies. I believe that peppermint shrimp babies eat baby brine shrimp, too.

Thanks Tomoko, I will watch closly and try to be ready for the next ones. How long does it take them to hatch after they lay the eggs??

My clowns have eggs too. But you can't get a pic because they are in under a rock behind the BTA. I can barely see them.

These eggs look like several days old to me. A newly laid eggs are solid orange colored. These eggs look like partially orange with a hint of developing eyes.
