Clown died, upgrading tank, when to replace clown?

Yesterday was a very sad day for me, one of my clowns jumped out of the tank while I wasn't home and died :( there was a tiny gap between the tank and the lid and my other clown must have chased him out somehow (they've been bickering the past day or two).

I'm upgrading my tank to a 20L and I'll be getting the live rock on Saturday. I'd like to leave the tank fishless for a few weeks just to make sure there aren't any unwanted pests in there since the rock is coming from the Gulf near Florida. My guess is I'll move them over in about a month. Should I buy the new clownfish now, or wait until I move them into the new tank? I currently only have one clown (now that peewee is gone) and a CUC. I'm not sure if she'll be happy being alone for a whole month or if it will be easier on the new fish to have some extra space to hide while they acclimate to each other.

I'm also not sure that she's turned female yet, I just always call her a "her" since she was the bigger of the two. Either way, I'll be getting a clown that is significantly smaller than she is when the time comes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

R.I.P. Peewee :(

Since you are looking at a month to upgrade its really up to you. I wouldn't wait too long as you don't want stress out the new fish too much. If it were me, I'd wait.

RIP Peewee! :(

Thanks for the reply! That was my original thought. I guess I'll keep an eye on my current clownfish and if she seems to be doing okay then I'll wait until the new tank is ready to get her a friend. If she doesn't seem to be doing well on her own then I'll go ahead and buy a new clown then just wait a few extra weeks before I move them. As much as I want to move them into their new tank, I'm more interested in their good health and happiness.
