Clown eggs

So I came home from vaca to find the two clowns in my tank have, well, er, mated. On the rock, in clear view, are eggs right beside the anemone in which they host. I don't know if they were there sometime last week because I wasn't around, however, I can see a lot of silver 'eyes' (I guess from others descriptions). I would like to try and raise a batch some time, but now is a bad time for me so if anyone who *has* experince collecting eggs, if thats even possible, wants to come take a swing at raising them, my clown eggs are your clown eggs. Please *do not* PM me and ask a bunch of q's the short answer is, I don't know and I am not looking to research or partner up, etc. I just thought that one of you who may have actually done this before might be interested in the challange, I am not. Otherwise, I am sure the crabs, clam and other carnivors in the tank will eat well...briefly. PM me if you know what your doing and are interested.

Thanks

Hey thats, great apparently they like there new home.

Cathy Peck is the one you need to talk to here. She has the experience of going through it and id so succesfully!!

They are gone, unfortunately. I am assuming they hatched and were consumed. Guess we shall see if this is going to be a regular event....

Where's Cathy?

Haha! ... Cathy was hiding.

Been there .... done that .....don't need to do it again ..... not easy, but definitely rewarding.

To raise babies, somebody would have needed to be all ready to go with tank and rotifer culture established. To wait until there are eggs to decide to raise babies is to have already waited too long.

Once they start laying eggs, they will most likely continue. Clownfish are like the Swiss watches of the marine world. You will be able to identify the pattern of how many days and even what time the eggs will hatch. Once you have that pattern down is the time for babies if you want to go for it.
