I dont think it is really a question for an expert, i think i all ready know the answer. (hope I am wrong) I have a pair of cinnamon clowns in my 30 and I was hoping to get one or a pair of A. ocellaris, will it work?
Some species you might be able to mix in a larger (180 gallon +) tank, but any of the clarkii / tomato complexes and maroons are highly territorial. The best bets would be to stick with the ocellaris / percula / skunk which generally (but in not all cases) are more docile. Mulitple species have been kept by some folks in smaller tanks, but in general it doesn't work too well.
When i added it to the tank i handled it and it attached to my hand so i gently got it off and i had forgotten to turn the pumps off and it was pushed to the back of the tank and i moved some rocks cause i bought it to look at it, but my female acted like it wanted in it, but they dont go into it now. Doesnt meet the 3:1 ratio anyway so i was glad it didnt host. I just wanted to get like a true perc pair or ocellaris.
Sounds like i will just have to be happy with my clowns i have now. i was going to buy some ocellaris instead by the guy working said they dont host in annenomes so i didnt get them. thats what the research is for then.
