clown fish behavior

Hi, I have 4 clownfish in my 90g reef. They are all at least 2 years old. Originally they were in 2 seperate tanks and paired up. Now that they are in this tank they seem to have moved to 3 in a group 1 solo. Is this normal? the 3 hang out all day, and the 4th joins in every once in a while.? Everyone around here seems to think that you cant keep more than 1 pair in a tank. Any info?
Thanks

The only clowns I have heard of who sometimes live in groups with more than 2 adults is clarkii. Wilkerson has reported that occasionally 2 females will share a male.

Just to revisit this. :) It appears to be the 2 females and 1 male. They arn't clarkii. They are all false percs. The 4th occasionally swims with te other 3, but it's usually 3 one 1 side and 1 on the other.

They're all moved into my 180 not, but nothing has changed. Doesn't seem to be a problem so I won't worry about it.
