Is there a way to tell a female from a male false perc?

If it is near adult size and has been alone for more than a month or two it is almost guaranteed to be a female. If it was male and there is no female around it will morph to female.

There is a clownfish and anemone forum on RC if you are looking for more info. Those guys know their stuff.

so I have a clown that has been alone in my tank for a year or so, I want to get another how do I know if I buy another if it will work out?

from reading the sticky post in the clown forum It looks like mine is probably a female by now, if I find a small (immature) clown it will probably work out if the one I have doesn't kill it first!
