Stop whatever you are doing and do some basic research regarding the differences between fresh and Sw fish. Clownfish becomes very stressed when dipped in FW if not done correctly. What freshwater fish are you putting in sw? If mollies or spotted puffers you are not acclimating the fish long enough and the SG is probably too high. Google Brackish water. Good luck to you and your fish.:hmm6:

Unless you are referreing to a clown knife fish - the answer is that no pacific clownfish should be exposed to FW for any long duration of time.

if you are referring to the clown knife fish - you are unfortunately in the wrong board/forum as this is an area on saltwaterfish.

IDK what you mean but freshwater fish go in freshwater and saltwater fish go in saltwater...
If you're talking about fresh water dipping, it's very simple. Get fresh water WITH NO CHLORINE and make sure it is the same temperature as the SW tank. Make sure the pH is the same in both tanks. Then you can dip.

Some people shouldn't be in the hobby without knowing anything. Pretty sad. Don't buy fish when you don't know the dif between fresh or saltwater

I apologize in advance if you're asking sincerely but--is this a joke? Your profile says you've been keeping reef tanks for a couple of years...surely you've learned the difference between freshwater and saltwater fish in that time...?
