Clown fish

Hi, I purchased two clowns a week ago. One of them is paying alot attention to a certain section of live rock. It appears to biting at it. Do they bite at the rock for food?hosting it?

They bite for diffrent reasons. Food, cleaning a spot for eggs, ect. Just because they clean a spot to lay doesnt mean they will lay anytime soon though. Most likely that will be their spot in the tank though

Can they lay eggs when there small?

Whenever my clowns cleaned an area really well it usually meant eggs would be on that spot fairly soon, not sure how small/old your clowns are, could be just following their instincts if not ready to spawn just yet.
