Clown gobies hosting...

I have read that Clown Gobies host in SPS acros and such. I have a pair of yellow and a pair of green Clown Gobies. My tank is Anemone dominated (BTAs) and have some softies and LPS. I was thinking about buying a cheap browned out acro to see if the like it as a home. Funniest thing is that I have a few smaller frags of Frog Spawn sitting on the sand and they have seem to have taken these up as their new home. Has any one else ever noticed them hosting in any LPS? Also, since most LPS have exposed stony areas, has anyones Gobies clear any flesh from the heads? Just curious and thanks in advance!

I've kept them before. They're willing to be hosted by almost anything: leathers, SPS, zoas, you name it, they're not picky. :)

Thanks for the replies. Wasn't sure if it was really that odd or if my frogspawn was gonna get nipped at. Good to know! Not sure why, but sure do love these little guys!

I had a yellow clown goby take up residence in my large frogspawn colony (20+ heads). By the time he got done he had killed half the heads in the colony. He would bite the polyps and yank at them. I was about to start a mission on trying to get him out before he killed the whole colony, but he disappeared the next day. Never saw him again and my wife said no more clown gobies of any kind in our tank. He killed half the colony in a week, the colony is now back growing and thriving since his disappearance.

Mine liked to lay on a hand leather I used to have. Ignored the SPS. I eventually lost him and never found the body. I blame the anemone.

Has anyone ever seen a clown goby hosting a long tentacle anemone? I just put a anemone in my tank came home hoping to see the clowns in it but instead found my green clown gobie swimming around in it

I'm wondering the same. My yellow clown goby is swimming around my lta this morning after the anemone moved to his corner last night. I think he's on borrowed time. *♂️
