Clown goby without corals

I like clown gobies but do not have any corals yet. it may be months before I put some in my new tank. Can I put one without any problems? I have a Yellow tang, couple pajamas, 1 firefish, 5 chromis. No aggresive fish and not planning to put any (not sure if flame hawk is called aggressive).

My final fish population may look like this (90cube)

1 Yellow tang
2 Pajamas
1 firefish
5 chromis
2 Clowns (not sure which one)
1 Flame hawk (future)
1 Clown goby (future)
1 Yellow watchman Goby (future)
1 Starry blenny (future)

Clown gobies don't strictly need corals. You can add one, or even several.

You shouldn't add a yellow tang, though. A 90 cube doesn't have enough space to keep them happy. A yellow tang in that tank will become anxious and begin to bully the other fish.
Also, only get one chromis. Most of the time they'll kill each other off until you only have one. If you want a school, try blue-eye cardinals.

Agree, they don't 'need' coral, just like clownfish don't 'need' anemone, just a nice to have. especially with them being small they take refuge in corals.

I already have 5 chromis. so we will have to see how it goes I read about the chromis after I added them.

Regarding the yellow tang, it is really small about 2" or less. Once it grows, I will probably remove it. It seems pretty friendly right now, playing with the chormis, offering them to clean him up or picking up rocks etc. I do not have a whole lot of live rock so there is good amount of open space for it to swim on.

I'd be nervous about the flame hawk-they can be aggressive-and both they and the clown gobies like to perch so their behavior may too similiar. I've kept both fish but never together so this is just conjecture on my part.

My LFS has both in a crowded 135G but plenty of live rock and corals.
