clown has ich

i just noticed on my clown ive had for a month.. the male has 2 white spots the middle section of its body. im assumming it is ich. :eek1: i dont have a quarentine tank.. is there anything i can do for it in my main tank? i dont have any corals.. i do have 2 shrimp and a turbo snail. i have been soaking the food im feeding in garlic. for bout 2 days now.. i noticed the ich on saturday. thanks for any help.

Your best bet would be to first make sure it is ich, and since you only have two shrimp and a turbo snail i would set up a small tank for them if you have one, or give them to a friend to hold onto them for you until the hypo treatment is over. So i think you should do hypo, by the way do you have any lr.

yah i have 5 pounds of live rock.. so will that be ok while i do the hypo.. and i do have a 10 gal tank but i dont have an extra power head or filter.. if i just put on some air pumps and throw the shimp and snail in there will they be fine?

Yes they should be, since you only have 5 pounds, go ahead and do hypo.

please dont do hypo in your display, not opnly will it kill all the beneficial bacteria in your live rock, but it will kill the biological filter inyour sand as well. 10 gallon aquariums are only $10. if that is too much money then rubbermaid tubs are much cheaper and also make a good alternative. May as well buy it now b/c you will be using for as long as you are in the hobby. QT and hospital tanks come in very handy and you never know when youare going to need them.
