Hey there,

what to do with a true perc hosting into a goniopora LPS coral.

It was hosting my pumping xenia........but lost it. Now hosting into another coral

Don't want to loose the stony.

I was thinking of getting an anemone..........should i?

If so, which one?

1 year ols 55G reef tank.

If you have the right setup a bubble tip anemone like a rose would be a good option but a carpet would be better since I find percs. to host in those quicker than bubbles.
I would recommend getting a mesh basket or use a caulender and cover the Gonipora for a few days while the clown changes hosts because it may not leave the coral in favor of the anemone initially.
There is no gaurantee that the clown will not completely stop hosting the coral even with an anemone present and Goni's are have a tendancy to die pretty quick in these situations. I have three anemones in my tank right now (1 Carpet, 2 RBTA's) and my clowns still host in my big toadstool leather along with the anemones.
