Yesterday I purchased this bonded pair of clowns they were sold as bicinctus but most of the pic I have seen they look more like clarkii. Any thoughts

I just googled them and I think you nailed it thank you Next question what is a good anemone for them in the future???

I would think those would be "pearl eye" bicinctus clowns, a captive bred variety of bicinctus.

I don't think there's a "pear eye" bicinctus. There's a "spotcinctus" but don't even come close to the pics posted by OP. I've seen tank raised bicinctus this past weekend at LFS and I couldn't say that's what OP has.

To the OP: if your fishes develop a lyre tail then it's probably bicinctus. If it stays "normal" then it's probably allardi. Shouldn't take that long for them to develop the lyre tail if they are in fact bicinctus as sold to you by your LFS

Those are definitely captive bred. Of captive bred clowns, to my knowledge the pearly eyed trait has only been developed in clarki and bicinctus. Of the two, yours appear to be bicinctus, which will lose their third stripe with age and develop into a two stripe fish as their name suggests.

The LFS did say the were captive bred Bicintus I just looked at some images and the ones I saw were more orange so I was confused.

Here's a crappy pic of my friends old pearl eye bicinctus pair from Ora.. The markings are a lot different but I think they are the same as what you have his I don't believe are the normal traits for them markings wise.. I could be wrong though.. Awesome fish
