my clown wont swim to the bottom of the tank, i addded him yesterday so maybe he is still a bit scared but i am a bit worried. he was hungery and ate quite a bit this morning but still wont get near the LR. the only other things in the tank are 2 peppermint shrimp and 20 snails. any ideas?

He's probably just getting used to his new home. Mine swam at the back of the tank near the top for a few days when she was first introduced. The fact that yours is eating is a good sign... some don't even want to do that to start wth. Give him time. :)

ok thats waht i figured, but just wanted to check, hes swiming lower but still not exploreing the LR,

its normal. mine went totally LSD and got stuck on the overflow but they are everywhere now and its been a month but after a couple days they are good.

well its been 3 days and still no luck he still sleeps up in the corner too. i think it may still be normal but i am a little worried for the little guy, anything i can do to make him happier?

its normal...mine stayed in the bottom corner of the tank for a week after they got introduced.

chill mayn~~

ok well hes still not going down to the bottom of the tank, sleeps in the top corner and if you drop food and it goes down near the sand/LR he wont chase it down there, eats fine but just chills at the top of the tank. hes the only fish and there are 2 shrimps and a bunch of snails

Have a clown pair in each of my tanks. One pair sleeps on the sandbed each night, the other pair sleeps near the top of the tank in the front corner.

None of the clowns eat any food once it reaches the sandbed.

I just recently got a bonded pair of ocelaris and they're doing the same thing.. they have a favorite corner (near the top) they hang in for now.. I see them getting a little more adventurous every day though.. sometimes going 1/2 way down into the tank and more into the tank.. they chase food for a little bit, but not too far.. they're very small compared to my other fish, so I just figured they were getting used to the new digs.. but I gather this is very normal for them to behave like. They are eating well so that's good. It's only been like 4 days..
