Clown not hosting

So I have had an ocellaris clown and a bubble tip for over a year now and the clown has not hosted as yet. I am thinking of adding another ocillaris in the hopes that it may host and teach the other to host. Is this a good idea?

Or should I try another type of clown?

Thanks for the help!

I've seen them take 2 years to do it. Fortunately mine took two days. I've heard of people taping a photo of a clown in a nem to the tank to "teach" the fish waht to do, but I don't know how successful that is

It has absolutely no interest in the anemone. I have tried the picture trick already with no luck also. Thats why i figured i might be better off adding another clown with the hopes that this one may go to the anemone, but I do not know if it is a good idea.

If you added another make sure it is not the same size. Mine had no interest, and he was wild caught, a year later or so, I added a tank raised clown (who hosted in 3 hrs) and the other took interset and now hosting after a few weeks of adding the second.

Ya, I bought the tank raised, added him to the tank, cooked dinner, put the kids to bed, and there he was chillin in the rbta??

Just the answer I was looking for Veosk. Thanks for the info! When you say to make sure that it is not the same size, do you mean get a smaller one?

I had two percs and they have no interest in any (4) of my anemones. I bought a tiny tomato clown (specifially to host) and he could care less as well. the three of them now live harmoneously in my tank. any tips

Ok so I found a small clown that i am going to try putting into the aquarium. Should I realease it next to the anemone once it is aclimatised. Or should I just release it anywhere in the aquarium.

I personally, have three clowns. I have tried numerous anemones, and none of my clowns care about the anemones, so I gave up... and btw, the three clowns in my 65g all live together, no fighting! Good luck!

Okay well I will say that if the clown has no interest I would add a wild caught clown and see what happens. The bubble is not a natural host for them which may take the clown a week or two to get used to the anemones and say "hey Im going to go live in this thing! Will it exept me like the one out there?"I think thats what one would say but you get the point it should host the anemone and persuade the clown that you have and make her host. How big is the clown that you have now?
