Clown pair mating

Anyone have any luck getting their clown pair to mate?
Ive had my maroon gold striped pair for a while, they host in a ritteri magnifica anemone.

Sure, over the years I have had 3 different pairs spawn on a regular basis. A GSM pair, Clarkii pair and pink skunk pair.

Want to say (( this was many years ago )) that the GSM pair was the quickest, with it taking about a year before they started to spawn. The pink skunk pair took the longest -- 2 years, and the Clarkii pair somewhere in the middle.

How long have you had your pair? How often and what are you feeding them?

So ive had them for about 2 years. Started in a 30g biocube with no anemone. She got huge and i needed to upgrade, so now their in a 75g with the ritteri anemone, hosted immediately.

I feed everything from pellets, cyclopseze, frozen/alive mysis, frozen mixed food....I try not to overfeed but she pushes everyone out of the way and eats so much that she floats for about a day and cant stay at the bottom. Its been about 8 months in this 75g.

Changing of tanks can upset the clowns, so it could almost be considered a reset. (( Granted, other clowns are different. My Clarkii pair had been spawning for years when I moved, within a week of the move they were spawning again )).

Are you feeding alot at one time? Is the female getting the food from the water surface and getting some air at the same time? She shouldn't be floating after eating. Can try soaking the food in tank water first, so it sinks more.

I try not to feed a lot, i some times have to add more because the other fish dont get.

When i feed flakes, some float at surface and she does stay at the surface i guess gulping air too, ive seen her swim down and have bubbles come out her mouth. ITs happened a couple times where she has to constantly swim down just to stay in one spot. So i tried mixing up foods and dropping everything right in front of the current.

That seems to have helped, but ill try the soaking. But other than that you think it might just take a lil bit longeer?
