Clown questions...

Ok, so i had a black clown for about a year alone in my nano. about 3.5 in so guessing a female. i then bought a 90 gallon where she went, along with an additional black clown about 1.5-2 in, so guessing unsexed and then turn into a male. everything has been great...they were sleeping together, swimming, the whole shebang.

now, the female (i think) stays and sleeps on the weso brain on the right. the male (i think) now stays on top of the zoos and sleeps UNDER the red weso brain in the middle while the female is on the green one on the right. they were fine for about 2.5 months and the last 3 days they have been like this. should i be concerned?

here, this may help

IMO, 3 - days, no. 3 months, maybe.

As long as they're not fighting/chasing one another - you can't really complain. We would all like to see our "pair" stay together, but sometimes they just veer off - but I'm sure they'll get back together.

My pair that I had did this for a little while. Never longer than a few hours, but always ended up together at the end of the day.

Not sure what it exactly means.. but if they're not fighting - that's the only good thing.

ok....good news....they slept together last nite. but, when i woke them up this morning to check my tank (i do everyday) they moved their separate ways and wnet back to sleep. is it possible that they are both females. the smaller one is maybe 2-2.5 in. the big one is 3.5

I want to say it is possible they haven't sexed yet - yes. I know on 2.5" clown - even if they've been together for some time, they still may not be sexed yet.

How long have you owned them?

Were they bought as a pair? Were they paired up when you bought them?
