Clown Tang

I just purchased a 92g corner and am interested in getting a clown tang. I have done some research and some sites say minimum of 75g and others say 150g. I understand they are agressive, but I dont plan on keeping any other tangs other then maybe a purple tang in the futre. Do you think this would fly in a 92g or is it too small?

It's too small, and not in a good shape for them. Very commonly a CT in a tank that size will not only limit you from keeping other tangs, but possibly from keeping any other fish of any kind.

Agreed. Too small, wrong type of footprint, and those sites that say 75g minimum are insane. A clown tang will be stressed in your new tank, and adding a purple tang 'in the future' would be disastrous.

Its not just the gallonage but the footprint of the tank as well and this size tank is really too small for all but the smallest species of tangs. I would get a bristletooth tang if you really want one. I honestly cant think of many other tangs that would be more innapropriate for your tank than a clown tang.

Clown tangs need a 300+ gallon (8 ft. long) tank. If you ever see one in person, you will know why.

Thank you for the advice. I'm disappointed, but obviously I don't want to get a fish that wont thrive in my tank. The clown tang is off the list for now then.
