clown tang?

would you recommend a very small clown tang on a 120g tiny mining 2inch big i have no other tangs in the tank but would like to add more any advise
 
Not a good choice for a 120 unfortunatly, much too small. Not to mention the aggression issues that WILL happen later on
 
I think I would but ofcourse with no other tangs after him...he will out grow your tank but not anytime soon
 
Clown tangs are beautiful fish, but sometimes that also comes with baggage. As many have stated they become very aggressive (of course every fish has their own personality), but the majority do not like other tangs.. Not saying it isn't possible because I'm sure someone has successfully done it, but they do become very large.
 
I thought clown tangs are fast growing. I also would highly advise against putting a clown tang in a 120. They need a lot of lateral swimming space
 
i had a tiny clown tang in my four foot tank. within a month all my other fish were chased out of the centre of the tank. not cool. i got rid of him. they need their own space

I like the article a lot and agree with most of what he wrote. Everyone on here has a opinion whether it be right,wrong, educated, or knee jerk reaction. You just have to be able to sift through the people who post to post and have no experience with the subject at hand.
 
The thing that i found interesting was the parrot fish test? and the point about the extra 12" both seem valid and i have always been the person saying 6ft long is ok but should be 7ft this article kind of made me think well does the extra 12" really matter and where do we get these numbers from? i know thats like 4 questions but i was curious to know if you knew any of the answers!
 
The extra 12" is kinda hear not there and I personally believe with things like strong random currents from power heads or closed loops can make up for or off set the need for more room. With that said this is only to a extent. The numbers thing is just that numbers... I mean you know if we all had our wish we would have 20k g tanks that would cover walls from floor to ceiling. That article is a guys opinions and experiences and those will always vary from person to person

But speaking of 20k tanks, I saw a Clown Tang in a 2k gallon tank. He was about 4". Other fish didn't come near him and he was completely ****ed off. Every time I see a Clown tang at a store, it's always beating at the walls. I wouldn't risk putting it in a 2k tank, much less a 120.
