Clown Tang

Sohals are definately easier fish to keep. In all actuallity they are very similar fish, I read in a reef fish ecology book that they are the "clown Tangs" of the red sea.

I would never put a Tang of that size in a cube.

If it were a standard 210 and 72 inches long+ that would be the best suited in this case.

but if you really want one and decide to get one, make sure it eats at the LFS first...They are really hard to get them to eat prepared foods.

I put a four inch Clown Tang into my tank thirteen days ago and it has not touched any of the multitude of different foods I have feed the other fish. It will swim around with the other fish while they eat the food from the surface and through the food although it only chews at the algae on the back glass and water pumps? It looks quite healthy at four inches and is chased off and on by my similar sized Powder Blue Tang although it turned and snapped at the Powder Blue at one time. It constantly swims the length of the tank and it looks very healthy? Is it getting enough nutrition from the algae on the live rock, glass, and pumps? Any ideas on feeding?

A 4 feet wide tank is WAY too small to house a clown tang. These are big fish with strong thrust. Even if you aquire it small it will grow quickly. They are often super aggressive as well.
There is info in the FAQs sticky. I would steer well clear of adding a CT to your cube.

I have to agree with the post above after having a CT for about 3 years. I have a 400g tank that is 10' long and this fish uses every inch of the tank. It's true they become more aggressive as they grow and the one I have is not only aggressive towards other fish but also my hand.

Ive seen clown tangs in a 30ft tank and they cover every inch of that tank in a matter of seconds, and still show signs of aggression even in that size tank. There are tangs that are suitable for your tank, but I would steer clear of this one.
