Clown to the hospital

Does anybody know what is happeneing to my clown? It has like either white spots or something that is white on the clear parts of his fims and tail. Please tell me what that is. THanks, and I added just reasently a royal gramma about a week ago? Do you think he has anything to do with it?

white spot disease is ich... so thats probably what you got. Depending on what kind of tank he is in now, you'll probably have to separate him and put him into a quarantine tank so you can treat him. Ir probably has nothing to do with the gramma, unless they fought, and the clown was stressed, which lowered his immune system, allowing him to be more succeptable to ich. Ive read different things about treating for ich... everyone seems to like a product called "rid-ich", but i found that SLOWLY raising the temperature in your quarantine tank to about 86 or 87 degrees works amazingly. If youre going to do this, make sure you have air stones running because increased temperature means less oxygenation in the water. Good luck.

how does the garlic thing work that everybody is talking about? Cause i would like to try it but I dont know how to do it and ect.
