Nice fish Steve!!!!

Not as nice as your Blueface. Some day.......... ;)

Nice open area! I may need to remove some of my LR to provide more open area for swimming. Nice tusk too! Mine hasn't eaten in 2 weeks!

My clown will hopefully be 9" by the end of the year. It is about 7.5" and loves to eat. It was 4.5" in March '06 when I got it. Here is a couple month old shot.

clowntrig.jpg

It is a small tank 125 gallons total water volume so i need to have some swimming room for them .
I will take the tank down soon and i will combing the two tanks in to one to much work you know i don't have the time any more .

Zoom / Jimdog / danorth ....... I might be in a position to give you guys a run for your money soon ........ the SPS are gone, and teh fish are coming back ;)

Thanks guys for sharing your pic's. I have seen a few large clown triggers and they all had faded colors and looked old. I guess it from lack of care, both of the triggers in the pic's look GREAT. Thanks !!
Danorth, a do you have a full tank shot?
Zoom I take it your tush and trigger get along fine?
Hows it going jimdogg187? Well I finally got by big tank up and running, if I could only figure out what to stock it with now =[ I have made 6 different list but keep changing my mind. I figure I waited this long to get it up and running whats a few more month before I figure out what fish I want. I did get my queen angel and yellow tang few months back and there both in my 75 gallon till I move them over. I am debating on a clown or not, but after these pic's I might get one for sure now.
Man the tusk and both clowns look amazing and Very healthy. =]

sokin

I'm thinking of getting one now too (again).... pretty amazing looking fish..... it is just such a risk! If I got one, and it gerw big, and went nuts, I don't know what would be more heart breaking.... the damage and potential loss of other fish or getting rid of a long term fishy freind???

Its the main reason I haven't got one :(

No they fight all the time the tusk always backs down.
Feeding has ALOT to do with the color of my fish I feed all frozen sea food to my fish .
Large local fresh frozen clams , large frozen shrimp from the grocery store , dry sea algae everyday, grocery store frozen scallops , frozen lobster , frozen local blue claw crabs, my clown trigger don't eat any fish meat but the tusk fish is.
You need to keep P04 and N03 low i use a large refuge and GFO reactor .
I think my next tank is going to be W/D with a denatretor ,large skimmer and GFO reactor :p what you think????

Zoom,

I had to sell that BF to someone with a larger tank :( It just got too big for my tank. But I replaced it with a Sohal and an Emp :)

Matt,

I can't wait to see your new stocking list :D

Sokin,

Thats great! Your patience will pay off in the end ;)

Well my currently stocking list is far from "lean" shall we say.... at the moment I have:

6" emperor angel
4-5" Naso Tang
4" powder blue tang
3-4" yellow tank
3-4" purple tang
4 Lyretail anthias
Orange spot goby

I dunno what I would like to add...... not too much more to be honest.... there were a few that I avoided because of the bio load factor.... first that springs to mind in a pink tail trigger.

As has been pointed out, I run 2 no. 250MH lamps on my tank. That has its advantages, and its looks great, and teh fish look great under the strongly lighting, but it has the draw back of help nuisance algae to grow....... so it mades a clean up crew highly desireable, if not essential - which in theory puts a few limitations on traditionally "FO" type fish such as triggers, puffers and wrasse.

The latter is also restricted because I am going BB. So only certain species would suit.

I'm gonna take my time though, and get it right........ got a bit of ich right now, so I am dealing with that first (which is a nuisance) and that will take a couple of motnhs realsitically to get sroted out properly...... then its shopping time :)

got a bit of ich right now,

Always had ick in my reef tank never was able to fix it . I let the fish fight it off but I lost my 9 years old PBT last year from the ick so my next FO tank is going to be W/D so i can treat the main tank completely if I get ick or anything else in the new tank. Many will said a good quarantine tank will do well I have quarantine all my fish all this years but I still get Ick some times I never had a fish die from it till last year.

Yeah, ich is the worst!

I went to Japan for two weeks in Dec/Jan, while I was gone we lost power for 3 days due to the worst storm Sacramento has seen here is like 50 years.

When I came back, my roommate told me that my tank was w/out power for 3 days!!! My emp's immune system got so low that the ich just took over :( I just can't get rid of it! I'm going to set up a large QT and pull all the fish from the display for 2 months. I hope that is enough time for the ich to die.....

I lost my Emperor and the PBT to ich in my main reef tank the fishes immune system got so low from the stress by me doing a lights out for four days trying to kill the dinos in my reef tank.

Any way i think i'm going to get a W/D filter and 150 LBS of live rock for my new tank ,and if i need to treat the tank i can just pull the rock out to a large vat and keep the rock in there for two months and treat the tank with hipo salinity for six weeks.
I just don't have the room for a large Quarantine tank in my house 1200 SF home with two large tanks and a 20G quarantine tank i just have to be careful the wife is getting ****ed off with all this after 35 years with me and my tanks

A Mattsilvester, (I'm thinking of getting one now too (again).... pretty amazing looking fish..... it is just such a risk!) Me to !!!
I don't know what worse waking up and half your fish got the sh** kicked out of them or having to part with a fish you raise to look like the pic's above. ={

I almost bought one a few hours ago thou, great price bright colors and it was eating pellets. The store owner advised me that if I want a niger and clown I have to add them both at the same time or get the niger and than a few weeks later add the clown. Of course he didn't have any nigers so I waited.
I did pick up a purple tang , scopas tang, and a p. puffer. I am going to add the purple and scopas together and wait a few weeks and than add my yellow from my 75 gal since they are smaller than him. As for the puffer I couldn't leave him, my little girl wouldn't leave him alone so I got him plus I wanted one for a few years now.
I think my stocking list is going to be:
4-5" Queen Angel currently in my 75
4-5" yellow tang " " " 75
3" Purple tang got today
4" Scopas tang " "
3" P.puffer " "
Niger trigger -- in 3-4 weeks if not longer
Clown trigger same as above
And a Grouper blue line or miniata havent decided yet
Poss. a H. tusk or a bird wrasse or moon wrasse but it might be to small with a grouper poss late night snack.
I think this should make up a pretty kewl tank with color and good bit of movement.
A incase you guys didn't figure it out I use sokin and nataz, my lady started sokin and I'm nataz but I use which ever is logged on.=]
